If your accounting system is based on spreadsheets or can generate CSV output then the 100PcMTD App is perfect for you.

100PcMTD has now passed testing and is recognised by HMRC as a Making Tax Digital for Income Tax solution.

Starting April 2026, HMRC is phasing in Making Tax Digital for the self-employed and landlords. The criteria for this are covered extensively elsewhere If you are affected, then you will be mandated to submit your return data digitally. The 100PcMTD App can interpret the data from your spreadsheet or CSV files and present it in the right format for filing electronically with HMRC's secure gateway.

What can I do to prepare?

All new users can try 100PcMTD for free for 6 months to see if it works for you. Prior to any submission you are given a detailed screen showing the figures that will be submitted. Optionally, you can also use our bridging software in the HMRC sandbox test mode. In this mode, no data will be stored or used by HMRC, but it will give you an introduction to the process and provide confidence that your data will be accepted by HMRC when you come to file for real. OK. What do I need?

A PC or Laptop. (Mac and Linux users see below)
A copy of the Windows 100PcMTD software. From the Windows Store or download from here 100PcMTD Windows Installer
Don't forget the 100PcMTD User Manual
spreadsheet (Excel or OpenOffice in .xls, .xlsx or .xlsm format) or CSV file incorporating a bridging template. If your turnover is less than the threshold, currently 90K per annum, then you can use consolidated expenses for your quarterly updates, Download MTD consolidated templates
If you want to or are mandated to submit detailed expenses then you will need to use the full bridging templates MTD full expenses templates.

You will need to add the desired template tabs to your workbook and populate the data fields with the appropriate links to your data
Install and Run and register the 100PcMTD App.
Start submitting your data

All users will be given a 6 month free trial giving you a chance to see if it works for you.

Individual subscriptions (one NI number, unlimited VAT numbers) for £30 + VAT per year

Group subscriptions (up to 5 NI numbers, unlimited VAT numbers) for £60 + VAT per year

Agent subscriptions (up to 50 NI numbers, unlimited VAT numbers) for £100 + VAT per year

Pro subscriptions (unlimited NI numbers, unlimited VAT numbers) for £200 + VAT per year

Each NI number account can support any number of self-employed businesses and a UK Property business and a Foreign Property business with any number of properties.
